Lup refutes allegations of assault at Phubala

In response to claims that unidentified miscreants physically assaulted a driver and handyman duo at Phubala Awang Leikai under Moirang police station around 9:30 pm on October 28, the Phubala Apunba Meira Paibi Lup has clarified that no such incident occurred at Phubala on the fateful night.
The Lup has also demanded a clarification from Kwakta residents by November 2 to disclose before the public where the assault took place.
Speaking to media persons during a press conference held at Phubala Khongnang Makhong today, Oinam Babita, representative, Phubala Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, said that a meeting held at Kwakta claimed that the duo were thrashed by unidentified occupants of an i20 car who blocked their path at Phubala Awang Leikai.
Saying that the statement has painted the residents of Phubala in a bad light, she assured that the Phubala public empathizes with the duo who were injured.
However, she asserted that no such incident of assault occurred on the night of October 28 at Phubala and denounced the circulation of misinformation.
On behalf of the Lup, she has urged the people of Kwakta to clarify where the assault took place by November 2 .
Stating that similar incidents have occured along the Tiddim Road in the past, she called for an end to assault and harassment of drivers and handymen who work in service of the public.
