RKL extends yeoman service along NH 150

A team of Raphei Katamnao Long (RKL) has embarked on supervision of vehicular movement on the stretch of sinking road along Ukhrul-Jessami road (NH 150) at Marem village.
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao on Tuesday, RKL Secretary Soreiso Yangya said the 100-metre stretch of sinking road at Marem village, which is located 60kms from Ukhrul headquarters, has been a prolonged problem that gets worsens every monsoon and has caused serious impediment to transporters.
''The RKL has been undertaking a yeoman service of supervising the road movement every year to facilitate smooth movement of vehicles along this National Highway,'' he stated.
Soreiso added that the student body has pressed in the service of four Shaktiman trucks and its volunteers to assist in pulling the heavy loaded goods trucks from the sinking areas and has been on this mission for over a week now.
It also informed that more than 50 goods laden trucks are plying along this highway on daily basis.
Further, the student body said it is also monitoring the vehicular movement along the highway from Langdang to Jessami and assured transporters with every possible assistance.
Urging the state government to look into the deplorable road condition along NH 150, the RKL iterated that it is also a significant lifeline of the state and call for urgent attention.
The student body informed that it will continue to monitor the transport movement till the end of monsoon.
