Thoubal, January 30 2017: A sit in protest was staged at Sekmaijing Mayai Leikai Ningolkhong by different clubs and meira paibi lups to condemn the killing of Laishram Tompok.

Tompok ,Thoithoiba and Bijen were captured by suspected KNF (N) cadres on January 26 and when the KNA went to rescue them on January 28, Tompok and Thoithoiba were shot in a firing between the two parties.

A JAC was soon formed and it has urged the authority concerned to nab the killer/s and take proper action against the individual/group.

The sit in protest resolved to urge the State Government and the MLA of Hiyanglam A/C to provide a sum of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased.
