MML condemns Ukhrul ambush

Imphal, October 29 2016: Stating that the attack on the CM was an attack on the people of Manipur and an attempt to obliterate democracy, the Manipur Muslim League (MML) has strongly condemned the attack.

In a statement, the league said that Nagaland CM TR Zeliang should be held responsible for all the ugly incident and the deep divide between the people of the hill districts and the valley.

Alleging that TR Zeliang tried to misrepresent the history of Manipur, MML further said that the Manipur Government should take a firm decision to meet the challenges squarely.

Meanwhile, Liberty Youth Front said that the Ibobi led Government should come out with a heavy hand against the Ukhrul incident, just like it does in the valley.

Terming the attack on CM and his ministerial team as a challenge to the people of Manipur by NSCN (IM) , the front warned the BJP Government at the Centre that if does not crack down on the NSCN (IM) cadres, then the BJP too would be opposed tooth and nail here.

The same thing will also happen to the Congress and Manipur will not see a Congress Government here, it added.

Asserting that the attack on CM O Ibobi and his Ministerial team while visiting Ukhrul to inaugurate many projects was undemocratic, the Bishnupur District Congress Committee has strongly condemned the attack and lauded the two injured Riflemen for their bravery and prayed for their speedy recovery, a statement informed.
