Imphal, June 29 2012: A one day seminar on Geo Textiles and Agro Textiles Event in North East was jointly organized by the Indian Chambers of Commerce (ICC) and the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India at Classic hotel here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary DS Poonia said that a seminar on Geo Textiles and Agro Textiles in the state is indeed a good step.

It will not only help in identifying various other potentials of the state but also bring the state to a certain level of development.

The inaugural function of the seminar was also attended by Surjit Gulati, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Textiles; AB Joshi, Textile Commissioner of Government of India; Nakib Ahmad, Advisor of ICC, NE Initiative; Ram Muivah, Principal Secretary (Works and Transport); J Lhungdim, Planning Advisor, NEC Secretariat and Bodhisattwa Mukherjee of ICC as presidium members.

Various resource persons spoke on the topics including Geotechnical, Geosynthesis, Geotextiles and Agrotech during the seminar.
