Bharat Nirman Campaign for Thoubal district kick-starts

Imphal, January 29 2013:
Along with a rally participated by school students, a three-day long Bharat Nirman Campaign for Thoubal district has begun from today at the Mini Secretariat hall of Thoubal DC complex.
The inaugural function was attended by Up-Adhyaksha E.Manglemjao as Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal district T Ranjit Singh, IAS as President and Langathel Zilla Parishad Member S Budhi and ZEO Thoubal Kh.

Speaking on the occasion, Manglemjao observed that Bharat Nirman campaign launched in the district will make large number of people aware of the various schemes and programmes of the Government of India, and help in nurturing the relation between the Government departments and the common masses.
In his presidential speech T.Ranjit Singh, IAS said that various schemes and programmes have been framed and extended in Thoubal district, and all these Government programmes are being taken up in a phased manner.
Narrating how Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme became an Act, Ranjit explained that Act has empowered the beneficiaries to get their due benefits.
However, MGNREGA funds are not released at one go and subsequent funds will not be released if there is any complaint from the beneficiaries.
The subsequent funds will be released only when the complaints are disposed off.
He appealed to the elected representatives of the local bodies to read the provisions contained in the various schemes of the scheme so that they will be able to help the common masses in getting benefits from the Government.
Moreover, RTI Act that has been implemented by the Government of India has cautioned Government officials to carry out their duties honestly and sincerely, he said, while appealing to all to use RTI judiciously for the betterment of the society.
Stating that the district authority has been doing a lot of work to make the common masses aware of the benefits they can enjoy under various schemes of the Government of India, Ranjit also expressed hope that the campaign will achieve the target of reaching out to the masses.

Amuba spoke on SSA and said this is an important flagship programme which requires proper coordination, cooperation and sincerity on the part of implementing agencies to make it successful.
Earlier, welcoming the gathering, MCO PIB Imphal Premlata Loitam pointed out that Bharat Nirman Campaign had been held in different parts of the country including Manipur and the one being organized at Thoubal today is the thirteenth such programmes in the State.
Around 20 Stalls including that of various Central and State Government departments are participating in the campaign displaying their respective activities.
Apart from presentation of the opening and the closing songs by the artistes of Song and Drama Division, the inaugural function of the campaign was marked by cultural programmes.
The three-day long campaign is organized jointly by PIB Imphal in collaboration with DAVP, DFP, Song and Drama Division, Prashar Bharati, District Administration Thoubal, Departments of Central and state Governments, Z.P , G.P.NGOs clubs etc, in Thoubal district.
