Imphal, October 28 2019:
Stating that it would welcome economic, cultural and political greater autonomy granted to Nagas in Nagaland as a solution to the ongoing peace talk, the AMUCO has offered to help peaceful resettlement of the Nagas of Manipur who have joined NSCN-IM.
This was stated by AMUCO advisor Ph Deban while speaking at the 3rd death anniversary function of Pabung Iboyaima held today at the organisation's Kwakeithel office.
The Naga solution which is expected to be sealed on October 31 should not affect not only the territorial integrity but also the inter-community relations, Deban said.
The State Government must also take active roles towards peaceful resettlement of the Nagas of Manipur who have joined NSCN-IM, he said.
However, if the Naga solution contains anything which is inimical to the interest of Manipur, AMUCO and other CSOs would fight with all its strength and resources under the leadership of COCOMI, Deban said.
The age old relationship shared between the hill people and valley people must be upheld and promoted.
This was exactly later social worker Thounaojam Iboyaima's vision and conviction, he asserted.
AMUCO president Ph Nando Luwang said that the Government of India has created panicky situation in the State by sending in huge numbers of central paramilitary forces despite its assurance that the Naga peace talk would not affect Manipur in any manner.
The death anniversary function was also attended by Pabung Iboyaima Memorial Trust convenor Th Ajit and Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur president L Memchoubi.
Many speakers who addressed the function talked about the life and contributions of late Thounaojam Iboyaima.
Earlier, the gathering paid floral tributes to the late social worker.
