Vet Dept plans 2 days vaccination drive in CCpur town area

CCpur, October 27 2019: Amidst the reported fatal case of rabbies in the town area, the Veterinary Dept Churachandpur have set plans for mass vaccination of dogs on Monday and Tuesday at four different locations.

A circular issued by the Jt Director District Veterinary Office Churachandpur informed that mass vaccination drive will be conducted by the department on October 28 and 29 at four locations.

On Monday (October 28), the vaccination drive will be conducted at D Phailian and Lailam Veng with 5 officials each while on Tuesday, the drive will continue at Rengkai and Hiangtam Lamka.

It may be noted that a woman had developed signs of rabbies, a good seven months after she was bitten by her pet dog at D Phailian village.

The woman expired at RIMS, Imphal where she was taken for treatment on October 23 .
