Transgender beauty pageant winner alleges humiliation

First Runner Up of Miss Transqueen India, 2017, Loi Loi Haorangbam has alleged that he has been informed of disqualification from the beauty pageant and asked to handover the crown, cash and other properties awarded to him by the event organiser on the false charge of breaching its rules and regulation .
Addressing newspersons at Manipur Press Club here today, Loi Loi Haorangbam said that he received a legal notice on behalf of the organiser informing about the matter through mail and post .
He claimed that the legal notice accused him of misbehaving with the organiser and the jury by posting derogatory comments on social media on many occasions and writing a letter to the organiser of Miss Trans Sexual Australia International against the organiser of Miss Transqueen India .
Denying the charges levelled against him, Loi Loi clarified that he has never maintained any twitter account and done anything wrong against the organiser .
Mention may be made that Loi Loi clinched the 1st Runners up while Nitasha Biswas of Kolkata was crowned the title of the beauty pageant which was organized by M/s Suhani Dream Catchers Private Limited on August 27 last at Bristol Hotel, Gurgaon .
The winner and the Ist Runner up are to represent Thailand Miss International Queen, 2017 and Miss Transexual in Australia, 2017 respectively .
He said that the organiser asked him to produce passport and other documents without giving prior information .
Contending that participants from the North East were ill-treated during their stay at Gurgaon for the beauty pageant, he termed the organiser's act as humiliation towards the North East people .
The transgender also alleged that he was even treated as a drug user when he complained about the shortage of money to the organiser .
Meanwhile, All Manipur Nupi Maanbi Association (AMANA) and the Civil Society Coalition on Human Rights in Manipur and the UN (CSCHR) have strongly condemned the organiser’s act and ill-treatment meted out to the transgenders of the North East .
AMANA secretary Santa Khurai and CSCHR president Laifungbam Debabrata Roy in press meet held today termed that the organiser’s act as a discrimination against the transgender community and people of North East States.
