Hunger Marchers' Day observed at Jiribam

Jiribam, August 27 2018: As observed across Manipur, All Manipur Student Union (AMSU) District Committee, Jiribam also organised the observance of 53rd Hunger Marchers' Day successfully at the Auditorium Hall of Jiribam Higher Secondary School (JHSS) today.

Y Ashokumar Singh retd SP, Y Sanjiv Singh president AMSU District Committee Jiribam, Dr Aran Kumar Mangang president PPANL Jiribam, S Herajit Singh president MYF A Cachar Assam, Ng Biswajit Singh president All Jiribam Working Journalist Union (AJWJU) Jiribam, P Jiten Singh chairman BSDDO Jiribam and F Ahmed Sazbam general secretary PMPS Jiribam attended the observance.

Students from different schools of Jiribam took out a rally from Jiribam Higher Secondary School in connection with the observance of Hunger Marchers' Day while floral tribute and respect were paid to the martyrs later at the school.

Y Ashokumar Singh retd SP began the ceremony by lighting up the flame while L Seema Chanu joint secretary AMSU District Committee delivered the welcome address and Kh Tiken Meetei general secretary AMSU District Committee explained the intrinsic meaning of the observance to the gatherings.

Later, two minutes silence was observed as mark of respect to the martyrs.

Later in the day, the invitees spoke on various aspect of the observance while prizes were also distributed to the top most contestants who have excelled in the painting competition held in connection to the ceremony.
