Poster campaign against bad road begins at Tamenglong

Tamenglong, July 27 2013 : The Joint Forum for Transport Welfare Tamenglong District in collaboration with Zeiangrong Youth Front, Tamenglong Zone and Zeliangrong Students' Union, Tamenglong District on Friday began posters campaign against the delaying in construction of Tamenglong-Khongsang road.

This new development came after a meeting of all frontal organizations of Tamenglong District at PWD IB, Tamenglong.

The meeting unanimously resolved to start a poster and pamphlet campaign in the district HQs from today.

The posters were pasted along Tamenglong bazaars and pamphlets were distributed among passers-by at the district HQs since yesterday.

The posters read like 'start construct of Tamenglong- Khongsang road', 'We condemned poor governance of Manipur', 'Justice is what we demand', 'Independence Day celebration will be boycott if the government does not construct Tamenglong- Khongsang road within 10 August 2013', 'Come and join the organisations demanding construction of Tamenglong- Khongsang road', etc.

Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao on the sidelines of the poster campaign, Mathiusang Panmei, Convener of Joint Forum for Transport Welfare, Tamenglong said that their stand to boycott the Independence Day celebration and launch other forms of agitations has been taken in case the Government fails to construct the 39.5 km Tamenglong- Khongsang road before 10 August 2013 .

He also appeals to all the public of Tamenglong district to give full cooperation to the agitations demanding the construction of Tamenglong- Khongsang road.
