AR, CRPF celebrate 72nd R-Day

Assam Rifles celebrated the 72nd Republic Day with great enthusiasm and zeal at various locations in Manipur.
Events were organized at Kakching, Moreh, Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Pherzawl and Imphal, said a statement of IGAR (S).
The celebration at Kakching included hoisting of National flag with participation from all strata of society including Veer Naaris, ex-servicemen, Pastors of local Churches, students and local villagers.
At Singhat in Churachandpur District, the troops of Assam Rifles organised a centralised meet of village chiefs and children of Hill Model School where a motivational movie was screened and sweets were distributed.
Similarly at Kangwai and Saitapur, Assam Rifles celebrated Republic Day with the youth, CSOs and locals of Bishnupur district.
The event at Ukhrul witnessed a flag hoisting ceremony followed by an informative lecture on the significance of Republic Day and a spectacular skills based cultural performance demonstrated by the young kids of the area.
Other events at Pherzawl included a tree plantation drive, motivational lecture and screening of a live telecast of RD parade for school children.
CRPF observes Republic Day Group Centre CRPF, Langjing celebrated the 72nd Republic Day yesterday.
The occasion was attended by Randeep Datta, IGP, M&N Sector; Suresh Sharma, DIGP, M&N Sector; Dr Ashok, DIG (Medical), Composite Hospital; Ravindra Singh Rautela, DIGP, Range Imphal; H K Kanaujia, DIGP, M&N Sector; I Lokendra Singh, DIGP, GC, CRPF and other officials, said a statement issued by PRO CRPF.
Randeep Datta hoisted the Indian Tricolor, took the guard of honour and sang the National Anthem with all the participants, added the statement.
As a part of the occasion 'At home party' for all the Subordinate officers by Gazetted officers at Station officers Mess and 'Bada Khana' programme was also organised in all the messes, further added the statement.
AAI celebrates
Airport Authority of India celebrated 72nd Republic Day at Imphal International Airport and hoisted the tallest National Flag in the State, yesterday.
The programme was attended by P Lokanadh, airport director, AAI, Imphal International Airport; Rocky PS, deputy commandant, CISF and other top officials of AAI and CISF along with other stakeholders including Air India, Air Asia, IndiGo and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, said a statement issued by AAI.
The Quick Response Team (QRT) of CISF displayed their prowess by displaying their fire-power and armed/unarmed combat skills and a cultural show by the kids of CISF and AAI staff posted at Imphal Airport was the main attraction of the event, added the statement.
The flagpole at the Airport is 100 feet tall and the flag itself is 30 feet long and 20 feet width, added the statement.
