Senapati DC, DSO & Consumer Club inspect shops and godowns

Senapati, October 26 2019:
In view of the rising apprehension among the public residing in the district headquarters, Senapati, officials from the district administration led by DC Somorjit Salam, DSO, civil bodies and consumer club of the district including the District Police had inspected food grain stalls in and around the Senapati bazaar and Maram bazaar.
Speaking to media persons after the inspection, Somorjit Salam said that the team had inspected the godowns of the shops running at Senapati and Maram bazaar.
The DC said that shortage in some commodities was due to torrential rain that had blocked some portion of the road in the neighbouring states.
The DC assured that commodities will be available soon and asked all not to be panic because of the present situation and do not resort to panic buying.
The DC also mentioned that the Govt will soon take up appropriate action if there is shortage of items.
In an order issued from the DC office, it is said that shopkeepers will not be allowed to sell commodities at exorbitant rate above normal price.
The order also asked the District Police to assist the DSO and consumer club in checking the prices of commodities.
