Mass vaccination in Ukhrul begins today

Ukhrul, June 26 2021: The district administration and the medical department have stepped up arrangements for mass vaccination under its Covid-19 Awareness Cum Vaccination campaign to cover maximum population of the district.

The eight-day-long campaign is all set to commence from June 27 and will cover 10 locations of Hunphun village and two other villages.

It will wind up on July 4 .

"It is a sincere appeal of the district administration and the Health Department to all the citizens to the district to extend maximum cooperation in this mass vaccination drive to ensure protection from Corona virus," DC Joseph Pauline Kamson stated in an order on Saturday.

It said that the Covid-19 Awareness Cum Vaccination campaign will continue in the district and will be notified from time to time.

"Covid-19 Protocols and Covid-19 appropriate behaviour shall be strictly observed during the Covid-19 Awareness Cum Vaccination campaign," it said, urging the Local Covid Awareness and Enforcement Committees to co-operate with the engaged health workers during the campaign and ensure that all eligible persons are vaccinated.

Locations to be covered during the campaign included Peh and Chingjaroi villages, Awungtang, Kasom-tang, Meizailung, Naphang, Luiyainaotang, Kashungtang, Awontang, Alungtang, Tangrei, Greenland and adjoining areas of Hunphun village, it said.

The target groups of the campaign will be 18+, 45+ and pregnant and nursing mothers, it added.
