'Peace for ensuring development needful'

Stating that there has been all round development in the hills following the formation of the BJP-led Government at the Centre and the State, Saitu AC MLA Ngatnthang Haokip asserted that there would be more development in the State if peace prevails.
He was addressing the golden jubilee celebration of Kangchup Gelpang Youth Club in Kangpokpi district held today.
Speaking as chief guest, Ngamthang stated that the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh has been taking up various welfare schemes including free distribution of LPG connection for the people especially those belonging to poor families.
He maintained that the State Government is firmly committed to ensuring equal development in the hills and valley.
There would be more development in the State if peace prevails and law & order situation improves, he added.
The MLA conveyed that "Go to Village" mission will be launched at Bongkhol village, Sapermeina on May 1 in the presence of several concerned officers.
He also assured that he will visit villages in Saitu in succession to ascertain whether the Government schemes reach them or not.
Ngamthang stated that he will urge the Chief Minister to ensure that Kangchup Gelpang SDO/BDO functions efficiently for the betterment of the villagers.
The golden jubilee celebration was attended by Khangkam Misao, Vice-Chairman of ADC Sadar Hills; Kangchup SDC Damma Vaiphei and Kangchup Gelpang SDO/BDO Lalrongbawl Hmar.
