One hurt in bomb blast

Imphal, February 26 2023: A labourer was injured in a bomb attack carried out by unknown miscreants at the residence of Nandeibam Ingocha, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department at Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai, today at around 6.40 pm.

According to reports culled from the spot, the bomb went off inside the gate of the under construction house of EE N Ingocha.

It is reported that the projectile of the bomb hit the leg of a labourer from Bihar identified as Vikash Kumar (33) .

It is suspected that the bomb might be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) .

An inquest has been carried out by Manipur police and staff of the Forensic Science Laboratory and bomb disposal squad.

The impact of the explosion damaged the coloured roofing sheet of the gate and a car parked nearby.
