Accidents claim three including Territorial Army man and a cop

Imphal, June 25 2011:
Two persons, a Territorial Army trooper and a policeman, died late Friday night in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a scooter at Khangabok in Thoubal district, a police report said today.
Another Territorial Army personnel and a police constable sustained severe injuries in the collision that occurred around 8.30 pm in front of the Blooming Higher Secondary School, Khangabok under Thoubal PS.
The deceased Territorial Army was identified as Moirangthem Arunkumar (32) of Kakching Khunyai village while the deceased policeman was identified as Ningombam Manojkumar (32) son of Radheshyam of Thoubal Ningombam.
The two injured persons were Takhelmayum Ajit (31) a Territorial Army presonnel posted at Shillong together with the deceased Arunkumar and constable Ningombam Momoton (32) son of Late Babu of Thoubal Leishangthem.
The accident occurred when the two police constables, escort personnel of the Additional Thoubal SP H Jugeshwor, were coming back from an official duty on a Pulsar motorcycle.
The two Territorial Army personnel, Arunkumar and Ajit, were coming back from Leimakhong Army camp towards Kakching.
Posted at Shillong they had come back on a three day leave.
Arunkumar succumbed to his injury on way to a hospital in Imphal while Manojkumar died this morning around 3.30 am at Raj Polyclinic hospital.
His colleague Ajit and Momoton were being given medical treatment at the same hospital.
Receiving the news of Arunkumar's accident, his wife Roshini Devi fainted and was hospitalised at Kakching Community Health Centre.
Meanwhile, in another vehicle mishap which occurred yesterday around 6.30 pm at Palace gate, a nurse of JNIMS hospital died.
Wahengbam Roma (32) wife of Subachandra of Thinungei Awang Leikai presently residing at Uripok Khumanthem Leikai succumbed to her injuries after a brief struggle at JNIMS hospital around 8.15 pm.
Roma sustained severe injuries when the Activa scooter (MN0N-4377) she was travelling with her husband was knocked down by a Bolero (MN01W-4517) near Pureiromba Khongnangmakhong, Palace compound.
Suchachandra also sustained injuries in the accident and was treated at the JNIMS hospital.
