Imphal, May 25 2021: The intense gunfight between factions of Zeliangrong United Front at Noney yesterday night left two cadres dead.

Sources in police said the gunfight between cadres of ZUF (Kamson) and ZUF (Jenchui) took place at Noney Part-V, 3 kilometres north-east of Noney police station, at around 6.30 pm yesterday.

The two killed in the action were cadres of ZUF (Kamson) .

They have been identified as Keineliang Panmei (25), son of Huliamrou of Ramlalong, Tamenglong district and Sumgailung Gonmei (24), son of Siamroi of Namdailong, Cachhar district, Assam.

Families of the deceased persons have collected the bodies after postmortems were conducted at Noney Primary Health Centre.

Noney police have registered a case.
