Govt orders closure of schools, colleges

Imphal, July 24 2014: The Government of Manipur has ordered closure of all schools and colleges including Government, Government aided and private in Imphal East and Imphal West districts on July 25, 26 and 28 .

Issuing two separate orders in this regard, Joint Secretary (Education-S) Abdus Salam and Deputy Secretary (Hr & Tech Education) Y Dimbajit Singh said that the decision on closure of schools and colleges has been taken after in-depth examination of the reports on the law an order situation prevailing in the wake of various agitations spearheaded by some student organisations which are increasing turning dangerous for the students themselves and also in the interest of protecting the students studying in various educational institutions.

All the headmasters/principals have also been asked to ensure strict compliance of the Government orders for the safety and security of their students.
