2024 achievement report: Thoubal police apprehend cadres belonging to different underground outfits

Thoubal, January 24 2025: As per the achievement report received from the SP Office Thoubal, during the year 2024, Thoubal district police apprehended numerous number of cadres of different underground groups with arms and ammunition while a total of 496 cases registered at different police stations of the district were solved and various stolen vehicles were also recovered.

During the period from January to December of last year, a total number of 3 cadres of United Peoples Party of Kangleipak (UPPK), 6 cadres of Kangleipak Communist Party (Taibanganba), 1 cadre of KCP (Noyon), 5 cadres of KCP (Nongdrenkhomba), 9 cadres of KCP (PWG), 3 cadres of KCP (PWG) Lamyanba Khuman, 5 cadres of KCP (City Meitei), 3 cadres of KYKL, 6 cadres of PREPAK (Pro), 1 cadre of United Revolutionary Front (URF), 6 cadres of PREPAK and 14 cadres of another outfit were apprehended.

The Thoubal district police recovered 166 numbers of arms, 121 magazines, 216 cartridges, 156 shells, 249 explosives, and a total of 1158 ammos.

Out of the recovered guns, 3 were pistols, 46 were 9mm, one 7.65 mm pistol, twelve .32 pistols, one M20 pistol, 2 revolver, four .303 rifles, 23 numbers of 9 SMG Carbine, one Ammo Carbine, 4 numbers of 7.62 SLR, 2 INSAS Rifles, 3 AK-47, 3 AK-56, 2 AK-Rifle and 27 SBBL/DBBL .

The Thoubal district police also rescued 4 persons, arrested 8 vehicle thieves and recovered a total number of 27 vehicles during the year 2024 .

Further, in a drive conducted by Thoubal police a total of 3685 litres of liquor were seized during the 18th Lok Sabha Election and 136 persons were arrested with a sum of Rs 21 lakh.

In addition, the Thoubal district police registered a total of 387 cases in 2024 and disposed of 496 cases, 69 chargesheets were filed, and submitted the final reports of 427 cases.

Twenty-two cases related to crimes against women and children were registered and 37 cases were disposed of .
