PDS rice lifting and distribution continues

Imphal, May 23 2020: To ensure availability of PDS items across the State, lifting and distribution under National Food Security Act (NFSA), Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) and Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS), continues in the State.

In Thoubal district today, 105.70 quintals of dal was distributed to the beneficiaries of Lilong Assembly Constituency.

A total of 3956.85 quintals of rice under NFSA was lifted in Imphal West district for three Assembly Constituencies.

The lifted rice consisted 1877.35 quintals for Sekmai-Saitu AC, 670 quintals for Langthabal AC and 1409.5 quintals for Mayang Imphal AC .

Apart from lifting, 3354.36 quintals of rice under PMGKAY was distributed in Sagolband and Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Assembly Constituencies respectively.

It is also reported that 10 quintals of OMSS rice was distributed to Truck drivers while, 130.65 quintals of dal was distributed in Patsoi AC .

In respect of Chandel district, 736.00 quintals of rice under PMGKAY was lifted from FCI godown, Thoubal (Tangjeng) for Chandel AC .

1564.21 quintals of rice under PMGKAY was lifted from Ningthoupham Godown, Senapati for Karong Assembly Constituency.
