Senapati, April 23 2017:
With repeated appeals to repair NH-2 failed to yield positive result, Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) has demanded immediate attention of the new BJP State Government to look into the matter or face public outcry.
A statement issued by its president Pungdi Celestine pointed out that making the road from bad to worst is mainly due to daily plying of over-laden trucks and tankers along the NH-2 between Mao and Imphal.
The road is even unfit for local transportation thereby igniting more restlessness among the local populace, it said.
Despite the repeated reminders, the Department concerned has not taken up any positive step, the statement added.
If the State Government cannot understand people's grievances, civil societies will have no option but to let the voices heard through various means, it said.
