Acting on the resolution taken during the CPI Kolkata National Council meeting, a month long mass campaign was kicked off by Manipur State Council, CPI from Irawat Bhavan today with an objective to safeguard the democracy, secularism, Constitution and federalism and to fight against right wing forces.
National executive member CPI Dr M Nara, State secretary MSC-CPI L Sotinkumar, State secretariat member MSC-CPI A Lala, assistant secretary MSC-CPI M Joykumar and assistant secretary MSC-CPI Kh Surchand attended the function as presidium members.
Dr M Nara said that the Narendra Modi Government led governance is the most deplorable governing system out of all which have existed in India after it attained independence.
As such, the fate of the citizens will be unpredictable, he alleged.
The campaign will conclude on the day India's revolutionist Bhagat Singh was martyred, i.e on March 23 .
The present Government in the centre is acting the very opposite of the essence of the Indian Constitution, he further alleged while mentioning that the campaign has been organised against the anti-people policies of the Modi Government to save the Constitution and the country.
Saying that people should not take the term secularism lightly, as it encompasses unity of diverse people having different backgrounds, he alleged that the Modi Government is trying to erase the significance of secularism from the Indian Constitution.
Under a democratic governance, many undemocratic activities are being carried out, he alleged.
