Break ground for construction of Mini-Secretariat: Kakching

Kakching, February 22 2018:
A mass sit-in protest was organised at Kakching Naohallai ground yesterday demanding infrastructure development needed for proper District Headquarters.
The sit in protest was attended by more than 5000 people from Kakching and neighbouring areas.
People of Pallel, Sora, Irengband, Mairembam, Hawairou, Keirak, Mantak, Wabagai, Tejpur, Laimanai, Hiyanglam, Hiranmei, Sekmaijin, Santhel, Laphupat Tera, Arong Nongmaikhong etc took part in the sit-in protest in large numbers.
A public meeting held during the sit-in protest expressed gratitude to the Government for 'upgrading the Sub-Division to district' .
The public at the sit-in protest appealed Government to construct Mini-Secretariat at Kakching within the current financial year.
It further appealed Government to build/ construct other infrastructures required for a district headquarter.
The meeting resolves to stand for peace between different communities within the district.
The meeting condemned and refuted the idea of consideration of geographical position of a place as the sole criteria to place district headquarters.
The meeting further appealed the Government to break ground for construction of Mini-Secretariat and quarters for DC, SP and other officials before March 31 at kakching.
In the same line, Kha-Maikei Light Vehicle (Passenger) Transport Association, Kakching too appealed Government to develope and construct infrastructures needed at Kakching at the earliest.
