Chandel hamlet lives up to the spirit of Indo-Japan friendship

Celebrating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and India, visiting dignitaries from Japan namely Takeshi Osuga, Political Minister of Government of Japan and Koju Matsubayashi, First Secretary (Political), Embassy of Japan were accorded warm welcome during a function at Anallon Christian Institute, Lambung here yesterday.
On the occasion, special gifts in the form of beautiful and colourful Anal scarves and waist coats were presented to the visiting Japanese dignitaries.
Organised under the aegis of Anallon Christian Development Committee (ACDC), a voluntary organization based in Lambung, the function was also attended by MLA of 41-Chandel A/C Nunghlung Victor and Deputy Commissioner of Chandel district Th Chittaranjan Singh, IAS, as Guests of Honour.

In his address, Takeshi, who also planted a sapling apart from unveiling a commemorative stone erected to mark the historic moment, urged the student community to study hard so as to become great leaders of the society.
Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Chairman of ACDC L.Wolring Chairman ACDC expressed desire to build stronger friendship between the people of Japan and economically poor tribal population of Chandel district.
He also expressed gratitude towards the Japanese government for lending moral support and timely financial assistance for construction of school building for primary section at Anallon Christian Institute which is expected to be inaugurated during the last week of March 2013 .
A variety of cultural items were also performed during the function which was attended by a large number of district level officers, public leaders, church leaders, village chiefs, parents, staffs and students of ACI.
