Imphal, November 19 2021: A team of Narcotic and Affairs of Border (NAB) arrested one 45 years old man along with 50 soap cases of heroin from the northern side of Lilong bridge today.

The arrested person has been identified as Jamthong Tuboi s/o Jangpao Tuboi of Ngamkhai Veng, Moulhoi Part-I, Moreh.

According to sources, the team under the supervision of NAB SP K Megha-chandra carried out random frisking and checking drive along the Imphal-Moreh highway, during which Jamthong Tuboi was arrested.

On interrogation, the arrested person disclosed that one Helen from Myanmar entrusted him to deliver the seized heroin at Senapati, said police.

One Aadhaar card, one mobile phone and one Bolero along with its registration card have been seized from the possession of Jamthong Tuboi.

It was reported that the soap cases were found concealed in the iron tube of the vehicle chassis.

The police said that members of the drug cartel are from Myanmar and other States of the country.

A case has been registered.
