Reduce public gathering at Baruni: State Govt

Imphal, March 19 2020: The State Health Department has sought the help of security forces to 'reduce' public gathering at Chinggoi Baruni on March 21 and 22, said sources.

The help was sought from the Government as large crowds of pilgrims are expected to turn up at Chinggoi Baruni on March 21 and 22 amidst the Covid-19 scare, said the sources.

It may be noted that the Health and Family Welfare Department had recently advised all to reduce public gatherings and the State has shut all schools till March 31 .

To further strengthen the preventive measures against coronavirus, the State Government may discuss shutting bazars, shopping malls, theatres, cinema halls etc tomorrow, the sources informed.
