Tamenglong, December 18 2015 : Mera Gaon, Mera Gaurav (My Village, My Pride) a scheme initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 87th Foundation Day ceremony of ICAR on July 25, 2015 was officially launched on Thursday at Marangching village, Tamenglong district, a statement informed.

Dr Narendra Prakash, Joint Director, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat; Dr Irengbam Meghachandra Singh, Principal Scientist (Seed technology) and Nodal Officer, Mera Gaon, Mera Gaurav (My Village, My Pride) of Tamenglong district and Gaunjanglung Gangmei, president, Farmer's Club, Marangching (Makhom) village graced the launching programme as president, guest of honour and chief guest respectively.

Dr PK Saraswat, Programme Co-ordinator, KVK, Tamenglong and his staff in coordination with ICAR Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat organised an animal health check up as part of the programme.

Dr Lohit Kumar Baishya, Senior Scientist (Agronomy), Dr Kh Rishikanta Singh, Senior Scientist (Agril.

Economics), S Gunamani Singh, subject matter specialist (plant breeding), Kh Hera Singh, Chief Technical Officer (Agril.

Engg.) and Gaipuichung Kamei, subject matter specialist (Agronomy) were the resource persons of a comprehensive awareness programme for 97 farmers on enhancing productivity of Rabi crops.
