State logs 67 new eases, no death

Imphal, October 18 2021:
The state on Monday reported no fresh fatality while 67 new positive cases of Covid-19 were detected out of 1458 samples tested, and registered a positivity rate of 4.6 per cent against Sunday's 4.43 per cent.
Out of the 16 districts, nine reported Covid cases on Monday with Imphal West recording highest count at 31 .
In terms of positivity rate, Ukhrul district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 10.7 per cent after reporting 8 new cases out of 75 samples tested while Churachandpur district recorded lowest positivity rate at 1.4 per cent.
Chandel, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl Tamenglong and Tengnoupal districts were free from the infection on Monday.
The active caseload came down to 1383 on Monday out of which 183 (13.23 per cent) are in home isolation, 489 (35.36 per cent) in CHICs, 415 (30.01 per cent) in CCCs and 296 (21.40 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 78 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 53 are on oxygen support and 22 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 148 patients.
On the other hand, there are three patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Sunday evening, 606 beds including 103 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals, 2768 in Covid Care Centres and 426 (28 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 93,404 positive cases and 1523 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave.
The current month has recorded 2220 new cases and 42 fatalities out of which 696 new cases and 12 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 67 new positive cases included 66 people (34 male & 32 female) from among the general population and one jawan of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were detected at RIMS (1), JNIMS (12) and other testing centres (54).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (15), Imphal West (31), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (8), Churachandpur (1) and Senapati (2) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 106 patients were discharged from home isolation (25), NIMS (9) and CCCs (72) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,22,804 (general population - 1,18,491 and CAPF personnel - 4,313) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,19,524 (general population - 1,15,238 and CAPF personnel - 4,286) and number of active cases is 1,383 (general population - 1,361 and CAPF personnel -22) .
The recovery rate is 97.33 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 882 D-type and 149 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
However, only 1367 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,36,382 out of which 5,92,628 individuals are fully vaccinated.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (42,672), Imphal East (27,153), Thoubal (9416), Churachandpur (10,107), Kangpokpi (2773), Tamenglong (3272), Bishnupur (9112), Sen apati (2219), Ukhrul (2883), Kakching (6375), Chandel (2310), Noney (1066), Tengnoupal (1052), Jiribam (1021), Kamjong (909) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (633), Imphal East (447), Thoubal (172), Churachandpur (160), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (189), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (39), Kakching (111), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,576 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03r000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,395 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,32,824 tests per million population against the national average of 4,23,550 TPM.
Case fatality rate came down to 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1458 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 4.60 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.14 per cent.
