Imphal, October 18 2012: Stating that Nagas in Manipur have declared their political position based upon the unmistakable facts that is impossible to protect our right to Life, Land, time-honored institutions, customary practice and values and live with dignity and honour as a people under the administration of the Govt.of Manipur, United Naga Council (UNC) has observed that it is, therefore, imperative that extraneous factors are not allowed to affect our declared position at this critical juncture.

In a statement issued by its Publicity Wing, UNC said that in view of this all the Tribe Councils and village Councils are advised that the village authorities in the respective villages should be duly constituted as per traditional practice which has been observed all these years.

It is also urged that utmost cordiality may be maintained in the villages while carrying out the exercise as and when it is due.
