Ukhrul, September 18 2011:
The Tangkhul organisations have strongly condemned the September 14 bomb explosion inside the Royal Hotel in Imphal, in which an innocent man was killed and two others seriously injured, as an act of cowardice and a heinous crime.
On Friday, the Tangkhul organizations including Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), Raphei Katamnao Long and Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL) Assembly Affairs have demanded that the state government immediately institute an inquiry commission into the incident.
"The blast incident is an act of cowardice and inhumanly crime and should be condemned by all people.
The state is facing serious security lapses and the government should seriously look into this matter," asserted the TKS president Yangmi Khapai.
The Tangkhul organizations have stated that the deceased R.Thingchipem s/o Late R.Wungkatui of Paoyi (Peh) village was an innocent person and a breadwinner of a family.
He was survived by his wife and four minor children including three sons and a daughter.
The organizations have jointly demanded that the state government should arrange ex gratia for the blast victims.
TMNL Assembly Affairs Speaker R Akhui has claimed that Thingchipem was a farmer by profession and had visited Imphal for a medical checkup.
RKL has also voiced concerns over the frequent spate of bomb blast in the state.
"The dastardly act like bomb blast has always claimed the lives of innocent people.
We must stand up to fight such crime," said RKL president Isaac Mashangva.
