Indo-IM talks deferred after mediator quits

The much hype formal talks between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM are yet to resume.
Earlier the formal meeting between the NSCN-IM leaders and the representatives of the government of India was reportedly slated for December 17, according to media reports.
Meanwhile, 15 NSCN-IM leaders led by the outfit's chairman Isak Chisi Swu today left Dimapur for New Delhi.
NSCN-IM general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah is already camping in New Delhi.
Top outfit leaders including Rh.
Raising and Tuccu are among the 15 members who had left Dimapur today for the national capital.
Isak Swu returned to Nagaland from Delhi few days ago.
Disclosing this information in New Delhi this evening to Newmai News Network, someone who is very close to Th Muivah said that the leaders have arrived at the national capital this evening and that the formal talks will resume "any day" from now.
When queried about the most likely date, he said, "It is very difficult to say but any day from now" .
On the other hand, an intelligence source in Dimapur informed NNN tonight that the resignation of RS Pandey as the interlocutor has changed the date of the resumption of the talks.
It is also speculated that the NSCN-IM is not willing to talk to Union Home Secretary North East in-charge Shambhu Singh.
It can be recalled here that the recent statement of Union Home Secretary NE in-charge Shambhu Singh's on the Indo-Naga peace talks had irked the NSCN-IM.
The Naga outfit had advised the Union Home Sectetary to restrain himself from commenting on the Indo-Naga 'political' talks.
A separate source from the NSCN-IM disclosed that the formal talks between the NSCN-IM and the GoI will be held definitely within this week itself.
It can be mentioned here that NSCN-IM chairman Isak Chisi Swu, the outfit's general secretary Th Muivah and 12 other NSCN-IM leaders had left Dimapur for New Delhi on November 19 to resume the peace parley.
It is also worthwhile to note here that it has been 12 months that the dialogue between the government of India and the NSCN-IM has not been resumed.
