Committee demands pending aid to flood victims

Chandel, June 17 2018: Flood Victims Demand Committee Chandel has strongly appealed the State Government to release the third instalment of the sanctioned amount for victims of 2015 flood and questioned alleged irregularities in release of the amounts sanctioned by the Centre and the State.

Of the total Rs 38.71 crore sanctioned for 2015 flood victims which was released to the respective DCs of the nine districts in three equal instalments, the 3rd installment is yet to be released, said a statement of the committee on June 15 .

Appealing the Chief Minister and the concerned Secretary Relief and Disaster Management to release the pending installment, the committee questioned what has happened to the Rs 130 crore sanctioned by the Centre to the State for flood victims of 2017 .

The committee appealed the State Government and concerned department for immediate release of the amount/aids in the interest of the victims who have suffered much.
