KVK Imphal West organises Field Day

Imphal, February 17 2025: ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Imphal West, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, successfully organised a Field Day on Monday at Maklang Makha Leikai Community Hall.

According to a release issued by KVK Imphal West, the event focused on the theme, "Rapeseed & Mustard var Ts-38 for Enhancing Oilseed Production in Imphal West District under Cluster Front Line Demonstration" .

The programme was graced by Dr Ch Basudha Devi, Head, Regional Centre, ICAR-Manipur Centre; Dr Laishram Kanta Singh, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Imphal West; and Yalem Sangai Singh, an innovative farmer from the village.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ch Basudha emphasized the role of KVK and ICAR-Manipur in improving the socio-economic conditions of farmers.

Dr Laishram Kanta Singh highlighted the significance of Cluster Front Line Demonstrations in boosting oilseed and pulse production, particularly during the rabi season, to enhance farmers' income and employment opportunities while increasing the district's cropping intensity.

Farmers from the Maklang and Kachikhul cluster villages actively shared their feedback on technology transfer and demonstration for further improvements.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 60 farmers from the two cluster villages.
