Imphal, October 16 2015 :
The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) and the banned Kanglei Yawol Kana Lup (KYKL) have announced that the organisations have jointly set up "Alliance for Socialist Unity, Kangleipak" or ASUK.
KCP information & publicity secretary S Mangal informed this through a press statement on Friday.
The statement said that the biggest problem faced by revolutionary movement in Manipur is the inability to correctly consolidate organisational structures.
Presence of too many groups, disunity within the group, factionalism, failure to unite organisations, formation of fronts but failure to project farsighted vision are some of the issues that have burdened all like gigantic rock over their heads.
The primary reasons behind the failure of revolutionary disunity among different groups have been the momentary tokenism for own benefits and the failure to adopt a correct theory on the advancement of collective struggle as the foundation, said the statement.
The newly formed alliance said that even for WESEA (Western South East Asia) region, this trend seems to be the same.
Revolutionary leaders in the region are yet to formulate a unified theory for the advancement of unified struggle.
Even if there were moves for unity or joint struggle, the interests so far have been prompted by immediate necessities of survival and interests which are temporary in nature.
Next, the biggest problem with the revolutionary organisations as of now seems to be distancing of the organisations from the revolutionary path and goals, pointed out Alliance for Socialist Unity, Kangleipak.
Revolutionary organisations and revolutionaries instead of facing and correcting the ills and trends the society confronts get themselves drowned in the same trend sidelining progressive elements.
Revolutionary organisations over the period of time have started functioning like "officers' clubs" leading to overall degeneration in character by imbibing corrupt practices.
They have also forgotten the primary task of freeing the people from hardships, said ASUK.
Alliance for Socialist Unity, Kangleipak has also alleged that the revolutionary organisations have indulged in only lip service and in the name of the governance, these organisation members have started functioning like the officials of the colonial rulers bringing further misery to the struggling people.
The alliance pointed out that revolutionary leaders have also began functioning in positions inherited from officialdom and instead of making sacrifices, they have started indulging in habits of the vested interests.
These issues seem to have also affected revolutionary organisations operating in WESEA region.
The overall degeneration has been one of the major hurdles to formation of a formidable unified revolutionary struggle, said ASUK.
