Imphal, February 16 2019: The Imphal Municipal Employees Union has condemned the ignorance of the Mayor, Municipal Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner of Imphal Municipal Council despite the ongoing cease work called by the union following the failure to release seven months salaries and arrears.

A press release issued by publicity secretary IMEU said that the cease work strike of the union enters day 24 today.

It asserted that the Municipal Commissioner cannot delay or deny the distribution of salaries even after the it has reached the office following the pressure from the union to the Secretariat.

Questioning the role of Municipal Commissioner and Assistant Commissioners in the office, the union appealed CM, MAHUD Minister and authorities concerned to consider the grievances of IMC employees and look into the matter at the earliest.
