The Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has directed the Government and the Director General of Police, Manipur again to submit a report as to why a thorough enquiry should not be conducted in order to ascertain the facts and circumstances leading to the death of Athuan Abonmai on September 22 .
The Commission had already asked the Chief Secretary and DGP for a report on the same on September 28 .
However, as they had failed to submit the report, MHRC gave them a last chance to submit their report before the Commission on or before October 21.MHRC also directed the Chief Secretary and DGP to submit their full report including post mortem report and all relevant documents to the Commission.
It is noteworthy to remember that the case was taken up by the MHRC as per a complaint filed by one Keisam Pradipkumar (53), a resident of Wangkhei Ayangpalli road.
