Govindas should think twice before speaking: Mani

Imphal, September 14 2024: It would be best for minister Govindas Konthoujam to think twice and understand the context of a statement before speaking, senior advocate Khaidem Mani has stated.

Mani was reacting to minister Govindas Konthoujam's accusation against his (Mani) earlier statement, "It is wrong to say that the unified command is not under the chief minister.

In reality, the unified command is under the chief minister" .

Addressing a press meet held at his Yumnam Leikai residence on Saturday, Mani said that it was regrettable to have a long-time politician and minister, Govindas Konthoujam, to speak carelessly without understanding the matter.

Mani clarified that his statements were based on the law, and not against the government or the chief minister.

It is unbecoming of an experienced minister to try and portray his statements as false and baseless.

Such behaviour will lower the prestige of a minister in the eyes of the people, he asserted.
