Man survives lightning strike in Kamjong

A man miraculously survived a lightning strike at Kamjong on Friday night that experienced a series of lightning flashes and thunder quails.
At 9.30 am, the identified as Mayarping Leikha, 42, was hit by a lightning when he went out from his residential house at Leiyatang colony at Kamjong, 82-km from Ukhrul town.
He reportedly suffered shock and numbness in his body from the sudden lightning strike.
Family members and neighbours rushed to his rescue and nursed him back.
The victim has been rushed to Imphal for necessary health check up on Saturday.
He is said to be the younger brother of Kamjong constituency ADC member L.Pamreiyo, who hails from Chahong Khullen village.
In another incident in the same locality last night, a boy who was reportedly on a mobile phone was also hit by lightning with lesser intensity.
He, however, felt only a momentary effect of the strike.
A number of electric bulbs and TV sets were damaged during the series of lightning in Kamjong on Friday night.
