DESAM thanks CBSE for nod on script

Imphal, May 14 2013:
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has extended its gratitude to the authority of CBSE for giving consent on prescribing Manipuri books written in Meetei Mayek script from the academic session 2013-14 .
Issuing a statement in this regard, Paikhomba Wahengbam, Deputy Secretary, Publicity & Propaganda of DESAM said that students of class IX in CBSE afficliated schools have already started studying Manipuri books in Meetei Mayek prescribed by BSEM from the current academic session and starting from this year, a new class would be added for each year.
Paikhomba also thanked the Monitoring Cell, Imphal of CBSE for co-operating in its effort to implement the native script in school syllabus.
