Workshop held, February 14 2016: Public Helping Organisation (PHO), Wangjing-Lamding un- der the aegis of the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India, has commenced a two-day workshop on 'environment 'at Thoubal Tekcham Maning Ching today, our correspondent reports.

The workshop is being held as a part of the National Environment Awareness Campaign (NEAC), 2014-15 on the theme 'Restoration of degraded land and water harvest- ing'.

Wangjing-Tentha A/C MLA Paonam Brojen Singh and 10-Langathel Zilla Parishad member Sagolshem Budhi Singh graced the opening event as chief guest and president respectively.

Green Revolutionary Society founder secre- tary Okram Kennedy Singh, Tekcham GP Pradhan Tekcham Fullojao Singh, DDK Imphal assistant news editor Birendra Chabungbam, Wangjing-Lamding Municipal Council ward no 2 Councillor Santi Devi, ward no 4 Councillor Th Amitap and film personalities like Kh Biswamitra, Biju, Sonia and Prakash attended as guest of honour.

Over 1000 people gathered at Tekcham Maning Ching for the opening event.

Range Officer N Muna Singh, Kakching Forest Divi- sion, was the resource person of the workshop.
