Dimapur, February 14 2013:
The Naga National Council (NNC) has appealed to the United Nations (UN) and the international community to intervene in the Nagaland affairs saying the government of India has imposed the Indian elections in Nagaland which amounts to the violations of the Naga peoples' rights and also the human rights.
"Therefore, the NNC seriously appeals the international community and the UN in particular to intervene in this serious problem in Nagaland so as to bring the lasting peace in the region," the NNC said.
"The Naga National Council (NNC) must make it very clear once again that India is never an integral part of Nagaland.
The clear political history of Nagaland with 100% democratic rights stood and struggled with time tested for the last more than 60 long years for the recognition of the Naga people.
