Manipur Tourism concludes Paryatan Parv 2019

Manipur Tourism has concluded the Nationwide observance of the "Paryatan Parv 2019" .
The observance was held commemorating 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
A team of Manipur Tourism officials led by Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh, Chairman, Tourism Corporation of Manipur Ltd took part at the Delhi leg of the event held at Rajpath Lawns from October 2to 6 and organized a curtain raiser event of the upcoming Shirui Lily and the Manipur Sangai Festival 2019, said a statement issued by the Tourism Department.
At the event, Manipur Tourism showcased its indigenous handlooms and handicrafts, cuisines and also presented a choreographed cultural performance highlighting the varied forms of dances in Manipur.

Manipur Tourism received enormous response at the event in Delhi and the shows put up by the cultural dance performers in the capital were applauded by visitors to the event.
Officials of Manipur Tourism distributed promotional materials to over 1,000 visitors.
The Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur organized an inter-State quiz competition based on the life of Mahatma Gandhi for school students on October 9 and distributed prizes to the winners at GM Hall, Imphal.
Manipur Tourism in association with Riptrip - a community based tourism (CBT) start-up also organized a joint learning session for 70 students on "Hygiene and Sanitation" with Dr Salam Robindro, MO, Primary Health Centre, Andro at the Golden Moral School at Andro Khoibu Leikai on October 12 .
A team of officials from Manipur Tourism led by Waikhom Ibohal Singh, Director (Tourism) interacted with the students who then took part at a "Dandi March" at the village.
The students visited the locality and spread awareness about the various risks people face in their daily lives due to lack of sanitation and hygiene.
Basic personal hygiene and sanitation kits were distributed to 20 households.
The final day of Paryatan Parv 2019 concluded with the 'Plastic Free Andro Campaign' .
The event witnessed participation of 700 volunteers which included a team of officials led by Dr Yumnam Suraj Singh, Deputy Secretary and Deputy Director (Tourism) and locals, school and college students, employed professionals and personnel from the 6 Assam Rifles.
Paryatan Parv was inaugurated in New Delhi by the Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Information & Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar; Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Minister of Steel, Dharmendra Pradhan in the presence of the Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism and Culture, Prahlad Singh Patel on October 2 .
The Union Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with other Union Ministries and State Governments launched the Nationwide 'Paryatan Parv' to showcase the cultural diversity of the country and reinforce the principle of "Tourism for All" in 2017 .
