Alert sit in protest staged

Imphal, November 12 2019: Coordinating Committee Wangoo, Wangoo Development Committee and Sugnu Block Congress Committee organised an alert sit in protest at Wangoo Nupa Marup today, condemning against any impact to the integrity and interests of the State as a result of the Naga political solution.

Speaking on the sideline of the protest, Sugnu Kendra MLA K Ranjit announced that he will immediately resign from his post as the MLA if it will ensure the safety of the State.

He informed that Congress MLAs will go the Delhi tomorrow and camp there so as to meet the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and AICC leader Sonia Gandhi as well as other Central leaders so as to pressure them to ensure the integrity of the State.

On the other hand, he accused the BJP led coalition State Government of completely ignoring the demand by the CSOs and the political parties to convene a Special Assembly Session in light of the current situation in the State.

As the Congress party is not content to rest, unlike the State Government based on the assurance given by the Union Home Minister, it has decided to go to Delhi and do all it can in its power to protect Manipur, he added.

He also questioned the reason behind the alarming deployment/stationing of paramilitary forces in a war like preparation inside the State following the Naga peace talks.

On the other hand, sit in protests were also organised at HVS Construction Materials Pvt Ltd Patsoi Lamkhai and Sagolmang community hall as well.
