Imphal, September 12 2018: People of Pangei today staged a sit-in protest denouncing the "possible extension of Article 371A" to Manipur.

The sit-in, organised under the aegis of UCM, denounced any "attempt by the Government of India to implement the Article 371A, VI Schedule and other related and similar articles and acts" in Manipur.

The sit-in at Pangei Keithel decried the "indifferent attitude" towards the State and reiterated that the sovereignty and integrity of the State must remained intact and uphold by the Centre when working out the peace talk with NSCN-IM.

The sit-in denounced the secretive Framework Agreement and called on the Govt of India to reveal the agreement.

Government of India should not work in favour of one party or community to appease the NSCN-IM and destroy an entire State, cautioned womenfolk at the sit-in.
