Man arrested for sexual abuse of minor girl

Imphal, June 12 2021:
A man who allegedly sexually abused an 11 years old girl has been arrested by Imphal police station and sent to seven days police custody by a court here on Saturday.
The arrested man identified as Rupesh Singh (25) son of Chandra Mohan of Ghitorni, South West Delhi is an electrical engineer employed by TPPL company and he currently resides at a rented accommodation provided by the company at Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak.
As per police source, family of the young girl filed a missing report at Imphal police station stating that the girl went missing from 6.30 pm of June 10 .
Accordingly, a team of the police station conducted search at suspected areas.
The same police station registered a regular FIR and started investigation after the girl could not be traced till the next morning.
During the course of the investigation, a report reached the police station that a young girl was inside Rupesh's Bolero vehicle provided by the company parked at his rented accommodation at Nagamapal and a team of the police station led by OC confirmed that the girl inside the vehicle was the missing one.
When enquired, the girl told police that she was kept inside the vehicle by Rupesh and she was confirmed sexually assaulted when checked by forensic experts.
Rupesh was picked up by a police team on Friday evening from his rented accommodation and confessed to have committed the crime.
He was produced before a court here on Saturday and the court sent him to seven days police custody.
Meanwhile, the victim girl was medically examined at RIMS hospital on Saturday.
