BJP Govt ushered in peace: CM Biren
Source: Chronicle News Service

CCpur/Bpr, February 12 2022: Chief minister N Biren Singh on Saturday launched a full-scale poll campaign for Churachandpur AC BJP candidate V Hangkhanlian and hoisted the flag of the party at the candidate's residence.

The programme was attended by tribal affairs minister Vungzagin Valte and others.

During his speech, the chief minister recalled the developmental works taken up by the BJP-led government in the past five years and said that the government has also ushered in peace.

He further said that before the BJP came into power in the state, life was very cheap and there had been social upheaval, adding that the issue arising out of killing of nine people by the police during protest against the three bills passed by the then state government was settled by his government.

Biren went on to say that his government is not indulging in pitting one community against another and now there is peace and harmony; there is no bandh or blockade anymore.

He then said that the Prime Minister respects all religions and when he visited Rome recently, he hugged the Pope.

On rescheduling of the polling dates, the chief minister noted that due to pressure exerted by the Christians and due to his effort, the ECI revised the election fixed on Sunday, February 27 to Monday, February 28.Biren also talked about the two oxygen plants constructed in Churachandpur and a medical college being set up in the district, adding that his government has provided tap water to 64 percent of households in the state.

He informed that the BJP national president will be visiting the state shortly during which the party's manifesto will be released.

Later, the main function was held at YPA hall near Lamka Public Ground.

Chief minister Biren, who also attended a political conference held at Kwakta Khuman under Moirang assembly constituency on Saturday, asserted that politics is about making people happy and bringing welfare for them.

While vowing to continue working for welfare of the people at his level best, Biren said that he has seen developmental lacunae in both hills and valley areas after his government initiated 'Go To Hills' and 'Go To Village' missions and efforts will be made to fill up all these developmental lacunae.

He also said that schools and road & communication remain underdeveloped as people took money in election and giving vote to a particular candidate who lies to the people.

He then promised to work towards improving schools, road, power supply and drinking water facility in Kwakta area and to make efforts so that every household of Kwakta is self-sufficient.

While appealing to people to respect every religion, CM Biren maintained that those who believe in God will never do evil things which people of Kwakta do not like.

Later, the chief minister attended a booth level meet at Phubala under Moirang AC, where he said that schemes will be launched to avoid using second hand cloths in Manipur.
