Speaking to mediapersons at Manipur Press Club, Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation (RNYO), Manipur | president Singamlung Dangmei said that National Highway- 37 is the lifeline of many people.
RNYO has urged the State Government to initiate the repairing work of a 4-kilometre stretch along the NH-37 within a week.
Not only did the State Government fail to undertake any step but also remained silent over the people's earnest demand.
"During the indefinite bandh, all kinds of vehicles will be prohibited from plying along Jiri road.
Resolution to impose the indefinite bandh was taken not only by Rongmei community but by all the people settled in the area," he said.
He added, "Even the NDA Government at the Centre gave an assurance before the people of Manipur that necessary steps have been take up to repair NH-37 within 100 days.
However, it failed to yield positive result till date.
Not even the officials came and took a report of the road.
Such false promise
is highly condemnable" .
