First ever street art competition to be held

Imphal, September 10 2018:
The Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur will be organising a street art competition, as part of its SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral participation) campaign.
A press release issued by Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur stated that the competition will be held on September 22 at the outer wall of Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, opposite Nagaram Imphal.
With "Democracy rocks" as, the theme, the competition is expected to create excitement among young artists and art lovers in the State.
This competition, being the first of its kind in the State, will reward the winner of the competition with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 with a certificate while the first and second runners-up will be given cash prizes of Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 with certificates respectively, it stated.
Speaking about the competition, PK Singh, Chief Electoral Officer Manipur said that the competition aims to create awareness about the necessity to participate in the democratic process of elections and will highlight the ongoing Special Summary Revision to encourage young prospective voters to enrol before October 31, 2018 for the upcoming elections.
Activities like contemporary group dance and BMX show are also lined up to add some entertainment, it added.
"The competition will contribute to the ambient aesthetics of the KLSC with refreshing and meaning art", he said.
