Second Chapter of Cultural Confluence of Tamil and Manipuri held

The 'Second Chapter of Cultural Confluence of Tamil and Manipuri' was held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan at Mylapore, Chennai on June 4 .
The programme was organised by the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur with special focus on celebration of Birth Centenary of Imashi Maharaj Kumari Binodini Devi, said a press note by the Director of Art and Culture, Manipur.
Governor La Ganesan, Principal Private Secretary, Raj Bhavan, Imphal, Y Ibomcha Singh, Indian author and activist, Sivasankari, eminent writer and journalist, Maalan Narayan graced the occasion as the presidium members among others and presented lectures on Imashi MK Binodini.
L Kishworjit Singh, Director of Art and Culture was the main speaker of the event.
The programme commenced with the State song of Tamil Nadu and Manipur and concluded with the National Anthem.
More than 400 people gathered for the event.
The programme was envisaged by the Governor La Ganesan to know and learn the culture, tradition, history, art etc of other Indian communities and also to disseminate the rich cultural heritage of Manipur to other parts of the country, added the press note.
